Samsung ''Nexus Prime'' Details Revealed: New Name, Huge Screen, More

Looks like we’ve been good this year. Instead of having to wait until Tuesday for Samsung to reveal the specs of the next generation Nexus smartphone, a new report has revealed all the details. 

Firstly, it appears “Nexus Prime” was just a codename for the device, and instead the phone will be dubbed the Galaxy Nexus.

Now onto those leaked specs. As previously reported, the Galaxy Nexus will be the first smartphone to run the latest version of the Android OS from Google, Ice Cream Sandwich. Measuring in at just 9mm in thickness, the super smartphone will sport a 4.65-inch, 1280 x 720 Super AMOLED HD, display with curved glass, as seen in Samsung’s recently released teaser video.

Clocking in with a 1.2GHz TI OMAP 4460 dual-core Cortex processor, the Galaxy Nexus will come with 1GB of RAM and 32GB of built-in storage, according to the report by BGR.  Sammy’s next handset will reportedly come equipped with a 5MP rear-facing camera and a 1.3MP front-facing shooter, in addition the device will support NFC, Wi-Fi and LTE/HSPA depending on carrier. 

Rumors have been buzzing that the Galaxy Nexus will be a Verizon Wireless exclusive, in part to the carrier skipping out on Samsung’s Galaxy S II. If history repeats itself, however, we could see this smartphone coming to other carriers in the following months, as T-Mobile exclusively launched the Nexus S last December with Sprint releasing it months later.
