Dell was among the companies that released a device running Windows Phone last year, but there are signs that this might be its only offering with Microsoft's mobile operating system.
Earlier this year, Dell was not on the list of companies that were developing a smartphone running the new Windows Phone 7.5. It did, however, promise a system software upgrade to this version for the Dell Venue Pro.
Recently, rumors began to circulate that Dell has cancelled any future Windows Phones. In response to a reporter's question about its plans with this operating system, the company said:
"We have not made any announcements confirming that Windows Phone devices are no longer in the pipeline. Dell is committed to providing the best mobility solutions, regardless of the operating system, to our global customers."
At this time, the Venue Pro still appears on Dell's website, alongside the Venue, which runs Google's Android OS. The unlocked device sells for $300 without a contract.
