Samsung Stratosphere with Verizon 4G LTE Launching Later this Week

One of the models apparently on the docket for the CTIA tradeshow this week is the Samsung Stratosphere. This Android smartphone will have a sliding keyboard and a large Super AMOLED touchscreen.

It will be available from Verizon, and will reportedly be this carrier's first 4G-enabled device with a physical keyboard, rather than an on-screen one. In addition, it will include a 4-inch WVGA (800 x 480) display.

Although it has yet to be officially announced, a leaked spec sheet indicates that the Stratosphere is going to run Android OS 2.3 (Gingerbread) on a 1 GHz processor, with Samsung's TouchWiz UI on top. It will have 4GB of internal storage and a 4GB microSD card.

This mid-range smartphone will supposedly have a 5 megapixel rear-facing camera plus a 1.3 MP front-facing one. In the wireless department, it is going to offer Wi-Fi a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 3.0, GPS, and DLNA.

The Samsung Stratosphere will reportedly debut on Thursday, October 13. It will likely be unveiled a few days before that though, so Verizon can show it off at this week's CTIA tradeshow.
