T-Mobile Releases Improved Bobsled VoIP Service

T-Mobile has announced improved functionality for its Bobsled by T-Mobile service, which now provides users with the ability to call Facebook friends from most Android-powered smartphones, tablets and Apple iOS devices. 

In addition, Bobsled now provides users with free calling to any mobile or landline phone number in the U.S., Canada or Puerto Rico, from inside or outside the U.S., from their desktop browser. Bobsled allows users to call, message or send voice messages to their friends on Facebook with a Mac or PC, just by clicking on a friend’s name. 

Available for most Internet browsers, Bobsled was first released back in April, allowing users to call other Facebook users via voice chat and leave voice messages on their walls. The service was shut down a week later to work out some issues with Facebook. T-Mobile plans to add support for the ability to dial numbers in the mobile apps, compared to the current “dial” calls only option of choosing a friend’s name, along with assigning a free mobile number to strictly Web-based users.
