The HTC Amaze 4G is now available at T-Mobile stores nationwide. It is loaded with perks, including what T-Mobile claims is the best camera in any smartphone, but customers yearning for all that goodness will have to shell out $260 for it.
The carrier officially announced the handset back in September, but at last the release date is finally here. The phone was previously available for pre-order on T-Mobile's website, yet customers can now walk into any T-Mobile store and pick up the new device. The HTC Amaze 4G retails for $260 with a two-year agreement and after a $50 mail-in rebate, which means consumers will have to put down $310 in-store for this smartphone.
More Details
The Amaze 4G, as indicated by its name, has 4G capabilities and runs Android OS 2.3 (Gingerbread). Sporting a 4.3-inch qHD (960 x 540) touchscreen display, the smartphone packs a 1.5GHz processor and 1GB of RAM.
As for other features, the HTC-manufactured phone dons a 2MP front-facing camera, as well as an 8MP rear-facing shooter with dual-LED flash. In addition the Amaze 4G also offers several other camera related features, including a backlight camera sensor, BurstShot and ClearShot HDR.
In line with most smartphones on the market today, the Amaze 4G comes equipped with a microSD card slot, GPS, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.
T-Mobile released another super smartphone today, the Samsung Galaxy S II. T-Mobile customers looking for a powerful phone for less than the Amaze 4G may prefer the Galaxy S II with its $230 price tag.
