Sprint Bringing Out the Mid-Range HTC EVO Design 4G

The newly-announced HTC EVO Design 4G will have a mid-range price but include some high-end features, such as a qHD display, 4G, and dual-cameras. It's going to be released by Sprint this weekend.

This upcoming Android handset will sport a 4-inch, 960 x 540 (qHD) touchscreen in a slim design built around an aluminum unibody. It will have a tablet shape, without a physical keyboard.

Like all the EVO models it is going to use Android OS 2.3 (Gingerbread), though an upgrade to the new Android OS 4.0 is a strong possibility. This will run on a 1.2 GHz single-core processor, and an 8 GB microSD card will provide storage.

The HTC Sense 3.0 alternate user interface and bundled apps will be included, and so will the standard suite of Android apps for communication, entertainment, and productivity. The Android Market will give access to thousands more titles.

Wireless Flexibility
This will be a worldphone, capable of connecting to Sprint's CDMA network as well as the GSM networks used in many other countries. It is also going to support Sprint's 4G WiMAX network, and have Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth 3.0, and GPS. It will be able to function as a mobile Wi-Fi hotspot for other computers. 

Its rear-facing camera will be able to take 5 megapixel images, and there's going to be a front-facing one for video conferencing. A 1520 mAh battery will keep it going.

The HTC EVO Design 4G is going to debut on Sunday, Oct. 23. It will sell for $99 with a two-year service contract or upgrade.
