The full unveiling of Android OS 4.0 was last night, and today those with devices running the previous versions are wondering "When can I upgrade?" According to Google's Andy Rubin, the wait won't be terribly long.
OS 4.0 is going to launch on the Samsung Galaxy Nexus, which is scheduled to be available worldwide in November. Rubin, who is the head of Android development, said today upgrades for current devices will be introduced "a couple of weeks after" the Galaxy Nexus. This means they should start rolling out in December.
Rubin did not say what smartphones and tablets will be getting these upgrades first, though previous handsets in the Nexus series are surely at the top of the list. More details on scheduling should be available as December gets closer.
