Samsung Transform Ultra Slated for Sprint

Samsung has just announced its latest Android smartphone, the Transform Ultra, which will be heading to Sprint.

Powered by Android OS 2.3 Gingerbread, the Transform Ultra will feature a slide-out QWERTY keyboard, in addition to a 3.5-inch HVGA (320 x 480) touchscreen display.

The handset will pack a single core 1GHz processor and 512MB of RAM. Shipped with 2GB internal storage, the Transform Ultra will offer users up to 32GB of storage via a microSD card. The Samsung smartphone will also don a front-facing VGA camera, as well as a rear-facing 3MP shooter. Additionally the Transform Ultra will feature a 1.500mAH battery and support Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS.

While neither Sprint nor Samsung have announced pricing or availability for the Transform Ultra, we suspect the handset will hit the market just in time for the holiday season, most likely with a wallet-friendly price.

While the Transform Ultra will run on Sprint's 3G network, the carrier recently released a new Android smartphone on its Direct Connect Push To Talk service. Dubbed the Admiral, the Motorola-made device also runs OS Gingerbread and features a 3.1-inch VGA touchscreen and a QWERTY keyboard.
