LTE-Enabled Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket Landing at AT&T on Sunday

AT&T has just announced its first 4G LTE smartphones, including the Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket.

While Sprint and T-Mobile launched their versions of the Samsung smartphone earlier this fall, AT&T ‘s edition of the Galaxy S II will hit stores Nov. 6 for $250 with a new two-year AT&T contract.

The Skyrocket will sport a 4.5-inch Super AMOLED Plus display, packing a WVGA (800 x 480) resolution. Powered by a 1.5GHz dual-core processor, the high-speed device will run Google's Android OS 2.3.5 Gingerbread, and will feature an 8MP rear-facing camera, as well as a 2MP front-facing shooter. Shipped with 16GB of on-board memory, the Skyrocket will hold up to 32GB of additional storage via a microSD card. 

Currently AT&T’s 4G LTE network is active in Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas-Fort Worth, Houston and San Antonio, however, on Nov.6 the service will spread to Baltimore, Washington D.C., Athens and Boston. 

The carrier also unveiled the HTC Vivid this morning. This will be another 4G LTE smartphone, which will also go on sale at all AT&T stores and online on Nov. 6.
