The HTC Rezound for Verizon made its first appearance in an ad running in a few Big Red stores three days before the two companies are set to announce the device.
Previously known as the Vigor, the Rezound will supposedly sport a 4.3-inch 720p HD screen (1280 x 720 resolution) and will run Android OS 2.3.4 Gingerbread. Packing a 1.5GHz dual-core processor, the Rezound will ship with 1GB RAM and 16GB internal storage.
The device is expected to feature an 8MP rear camera, in addition to a front-facing 2MP shooter. The HTC smartphone will also run a new version of HTC's Sense UI, called the 3.5 edition.
Like most HTC phones that have launched as of late, the Rezound will feature Beats by Dre. A source has said that a Beats logo appears as part of the bootup sequence, but besides that we are not sure what else HTC has done to incorporate the audio technology.
The ad shows a trio of phones, with the Rezound heading the pack. Besides sporting a pouting Joe Jonas on the screen, the device features a selection of red soft keys at its base, as well as a set of Beats by Dre earbuds.
Reports have surfaced that Verizon will launch this phone on Monday since the Droid RAZR hits stores on the Nov. 10 and the Galaxy Nexus on Nov. 17. It would be a bit odd for the Big Red to stray from its usual Thursday launches, though with such big ticket items hitting shelves it could make sense. Looks like we’ll have to wait until Thursday to find out.
