AT&T Prepping Three Android Smartphones for Sunday Launches

AT&T announced this afternoon that it is going to launch two Samsung models and one from Pantech this Sunday, Nov. 20. The Samsung Doubletime, Samsung Captivate Glide and Pantech Pocket will add a range of designs to this carrier's Android offerings. 

The Samsung Captivate Glide will be a slider, with a QWERTY keyboard that can be hidden behind its 4-inch Super AMOLED screen. The Android OS 2.3 Gingerbread device will pack a 1GHz dual-core processor and 1GB of RAM.

It is going to have an 8MP with rear-facing camera and a 1.3MP front one for video chatting. It will also be able to connect to AT&T's 4G HSPA+ network, with Wi-Fi Bluetooth for short-range connectivity.

The Samsung Doubletime will have a design that has become rare in smartphones: a clamshell. The device will include a 3.2-inch, HVGA (320 x 480) external touchscreen, as well as a second internal display that's the same size and resolution.

The smartphone will run Android OS 2.3 (Gingerbread), and be powered by a 600MHz processor. A 2GB microSD card and a 3.2MP camera are going to be included.

The Pantech Pocket, on the other hand, is going to have a simple tablet shape built around a 4-inch SVGA (800 x 600) screen, a higher resolution than the more typical WVGA (800 x 480). It will also feature a 5MP camera.

AT&T has not yet revealed what the prices for these three handsets are going to be. That information might have to wait until Sunday's debut.
