While images of the fourth generation Droid smartphone leaked last month, pegging the device with 4G LTE connectivity and a slimmer design, a new leak has surfaced revealing all the specs, as well as a Dec. 8 launch date.
Like its predecessor, the aptly named Motorola Droid 4 will sport a sliding five row keyboard, though will bear a striking resemblance to the Motorola Droid RAZR, thanks to thin design. The smartphone will also supposedly debut with Google's Android OS 2.3, in addition to the same "smart actions" software found in the RAZR.
The LTE-enabled phone will reportedly sport a 4-inch qHD (960 x 540) display and will pack a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, which is rumored to be a TI OMAP 4430. Shipping with 1GB RAM and 16GB storage, the Droid 4 will feature an 8MP rear camera with 1080p video capture and an “HD” front-facing webcam.
The Motorola smartphone will allegedly come equipped with a 1785 mAh battery, a micro HDMI out port, a micro-USB port, a micro SIM and a microSD slot. The device will also come with DLNA and Bluetooth 4.0.
It will supposedly be introduced on Dec. 8, less than 6 months months after Verizon and Motorola launched the third installment of Droid-branded smartphone. The price has not yet leaked out, but many of this carrier's recent high-end models have launched at $300 with a two-year contract.
