HTC One S Headed for T-Mobile USA

The newly-unveiled HTC One S already has a home: it will be released in the U.S. by T-Mobile this spring. The smartphone is going run the latest version of Google's operating system, and emphasize music playback and its camera.

The One S will be T-Mobile first phone with Android OS 4.0 and HTC Sense 4.0. It will be built around a 1.5 dual-core Snapdragon S4 processor with 1GB of RAM.  This device will use the standard smartphone bar shape with a 4.3-inch qHD (960 x 540) Super AMOLED touchscreen.

HTC has included its Beats Audio integration, which will bring richer, more authentic sound. Google Music is also going to be pre-loaded.

The One S will  have an 8MP rear-facing camera, and HTC bragged that it will offer super-fast image capture - an estimated 0.7-second shot time and a 0.2-second auto-focus. Its F/2.0 lens is going to be able to capture 40% more light than the f/2.4 lenses available on other high-end smartphones. The device will even lets the user capture a picture and shoot video at the same time.

This smartphone will be able to connect to T-Mobile's 4G (HSPA+42), plus it will have Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS. A 1650mAh battery will also be included.

T-Mobile says the HTC One S will be available at some point this spring, though it didn't get more specific than that. Pricing is also unknown. The timing of this announcement revolved around the Mobile World Congress tradeshow, going on in Barcelona, rather than because the release was near.
