The HTC Amaze 4G debuted from T-Mobile last month at $260 with contract. Today, the carrier gave this smartphone a price cut. Despite this, it still has one of the best cameras available on any handset.
The Amaze 4G is one of the new generation of phones that broke with the long-held practice of pricing all high-end smartphones at $200. And even after its price reduction, it is still above that mark. Nevertheless, it is more affordable than before, as it now cost $230 with a two-year contract.
At this point, it's not 100% clear whether this price cut is permanent. That said, there is no suggestion from T-Mobile that this is a special limited-time deal.
HTC Amaze 4G Overview
This is a cutting-edge model with a 4.3-inch qHD (960 x 540) touchscreen display. If that wasn't enough to qualify, the smartphone runs Android OS 2.3 (Gingerbread) on a 1.5GHz dual-core processor, and has 1GB of RAM.
As indicated by its name, this device supports the T-Mobile 4G HSPA+ network. It also has GPS, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.
The HTC-manufactured phone sports a 2MP front-facing camera, as well as an 8MP rear-facing shooter with dual-LED flash. The Amaze 4G offers a number of camera-related features, including a backlight camera sensor, BurstShot and ClearShot HDR.
