It looks like Verizon has once again scored the highest in this year’s Consumer Reports Ratings satisfaction survey, while AT&T found itself at the bottom of the Ratings for the second year in a row.
While Consumer Reports won’t release the exact rankings for a couple of weeks, the company did release a summary of the findings. Of the four major U.S. national wireless service providers, Verizon scored the highest, with survey respondents giving very good scores to Verizon for texting and data service satisfaction, as well as staff knowledge.
Next in the Rankings was Sprint. T-Mobile behind those two, though it continued to rate significantly better than AT&T.
Bigger Isn't Always Better
“Our survey indicates that subscribers to prepaid and smaller standard-service providers are happiest overall with their cell-phone service,” said Paul Reynolds, electronics editor for Consumer Reports. Amoung the smaller carriers, U.S. Cellular, Consumer Cellular and Credo did very well.
“However, these carriers aren’t for everyone," continued Reynolds. "Some are only regional, and prepaid carriers tend to offer few or no smartphones. The major carriers are still leading options for many consumers, and we found they ranged widely in how well they satisfied their customers.”
The survey included over 66,000 respondents, asking subscribers of Consumer Reports about their service and customer-support experience with both standard and no-contract providers.
