Nokia has begun shipping its latest Windows Phone 7.5-based smartphone, the Lumia 710, with customers in Taiwan getting the phone first.
The device will also ship to Singapore, Hong Kong, India and Russia over the next week, though no other global roll-out details were announced. It retails for 270 euros, or approximately $360, excluding taxes and subsidies.
Coming to the U.S. Next Week?
While Nokia has not yet announced availability for the Lumia 710 in the United States, T-Mobile is expected to unveil its version of the Windows Phone next week. Thanks to a manual for the device found on the FCC website, we know that T-Mobile and Nokia will be introducing this Windows Phone at an event in New York next Wednesday, despite neither company confirming such reports.
Nokia unveiled the handset in October, along with a slew of other Windows-based smartphones, including the Lumia 800. The Lumia 710 sports a 3.7-inch WVGA Touchscreen and packs a 1.4GHz processor. It also features a 5MP rear camera and ships with 8GB of internal storage.
Aimed at a more budget-conscious audience, the Lumia 710 is available in both black and white, with multiple colored backplates.
