UPDATE: This week-long sale is now over.
The national retail chain Radio Shack is having a special sale this week that cuts $30 off the price of all its AT&T iPhone models. This is most unusual -- Apple's smartphones are almost never available at a discount.
The iPhone 4S (16GB) normally sells for $200, but this retailer now has it for $170. Last years iPhone 4 regularly goes for $100, but it's now $70, thanks to this special deal. The iPhone 4S (32GB) is temprarly priced at $270, and the iPhone 4S (64GB) is $370.
These prices are available only on AT&T's versions of these devices and only at Radio Shack stores. The Verizon and Sprint versions are selling at their regular prices, and this retailer doesn't sell Apple smartphones on its website. The sale will last from today through Saturday, Dec. 17.

The iPhone 4S launched running iOS 5, a the latest version of Apple's mobile operating system. This includes a new voice-control system called Siri, available only on the latest model, as well as the iCloud online backup service
