Nokia Lumia 710 Windows Phone to Debut in the U.S. in Mid-January

Nokia and T-Mobile have finally announced that the Lumia 710 will be hitting the carrier in mid-January. This will be the first Windows Phone from Nokia introduced in the U.S., and it will debut with an entry-level price.

The smartphone, which launched outside of the U.S. last week, features a 3.7-inch LCD capacitive touchscreen with “ClearBlack” technology, as well as a 1.4GHz Qualcomm processor and 512MB of RAM. Equipped with a 5MP camera and 8GB of storage, the Windows-powered device comes with 25GB of storage on Microsoft’s SkyDrive cloud service. The phone will also come preloaded with apps such as Netflix, Nokia Drive and ESPN. 

The Lumia 710 will mark the first Windows Phone  to hit the U.S. since Nokia switched from using Symbian on its smartphones to Microsoft's mobile operating system. The phone will cost $49.99 after a $50 mail-in rebate with a two-year service agreement, and will be available in-stores and online on Jan. 11, just in time for the Consumer Electronics Show. 

Rumors of the Lumia 710 heading to T-Mobile began to surface back in November, though this is the first time either Nokia or T-Mobile have confirmed the story. The phone will be sold in black and white variants.
