Samsung Galaxy Note Tabletphone Could Be on the Way to Sprint

Sprint customers who like their smartphones vente size should be interested to hear that this carrier may be picking up the Samsung Galaxy Note, an Android device that skirts the line between tablet and phone.

It has a 5.3-inch, 1280 x 800, Super AMOLED display -- very large for a smartphone but tiny for a tablet.  It can be used to make phone calls, unlike most tablets. On the other hand, it comes with a stylus, something very rare on phones these days.

The source for this unconfirmed report indicated that Sprint might announce its plans for this super-size device at the Consumer Electronics Show next week. There was no word on pricing, however.

The other U.S. carrier that is reportedly interested in the Galaxy Note is AT&T. This version will supposedly support AT&T's4G LTE service, but whether Sprint will include 4G WiMAX in its is unknown at this point.

More Galaxy Note Details
This tabletphone runs Android OS 2.3 on a dual-core 1.4 GHz processor. It includes 1GB of RAM and either 16GB or 32GB of internal storage and a microSD memory card slot. It sports a rear-facing 8MP camera that can record 1080p video, as well as a 2MP front-facing camera. 

The Galaxy Note has a stylus (and stylus slot), which is called the "S Pen". A native app, the S Memo, allows users to combine handwritten notes and drawings, as well as pictures, voice recordings and typed text.
