The Epic 4G Touch was released by Sprint in the fall in a black casing. Now, that cutting-edge Android device is available in white. The new color option is selling for the same price as the original: $200 with a two-year contract.
The white Epic 4G Touch carries all of the features of the black version. Both have a 4.5-inch WVGA (800 x 480) touchscreen that uses Samsung’s Super AMOLED Plus technology. It runs Android OS 2.3 (Gingerbread) on a 1.2GHz dual-core processor. It also contains 1GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, and a microSD card slot for additional storage.
This smartphone is able to connect to Sprint’s 4G WiMAX service, as well as the older 3G EV-DO one. Wi-Fi a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 3.0, and GPS are all also included in this model, no matter the color of its casing.
Video-wise, the Epic 4G Touch can share video over a wireless DLNA connection, and it has an HDMI-out port to display videos. The device includes an 8MP rear-facing camera and a 2MP front-facing camera. The rear-facing camera can record 720p video.
This handset is Sprint's version of the very popular Samsung Galaxy S II. It has a different name, but the specs are almost the same.
