Motorola has accidentally revealed the launch date for the Droid RAZR MAXX -- so named because of its super-high-capacity battery. The wait for this high-end Android device apparently isn't going to be very long.
This smartphone will resemble the original Droid RAZR in most ways, but will pack a 3300mAh battery (almost double the 1,780mAh one in the original). Motorola promises 21 hours of talk time, 7 hours or web surfing, 15 hours of video, or 60 hours of listening to music.
The RAZR MAXX was unveiled last week, but at the time Verizon didn't annouce a launch date. Motorola, on the other hand, reveled on its website that it will be available on Thursday, January 26. This reference has since been removed.
Motorola Droid RAZR MAXX Overview
The device will debut with Android OS 2.3.5, but an upgrade to OS 4.0 is coming later. It will have a 1.2 GHz dual-core processor with with 32GB of total memory (16GB built in, 16GB microSD card).
The MAXX will be just a hair under 9 mm thick, but will sport an 8MP rear-facing camera and Verizon's 4G LTE. The smartphone will have a 1.3 MP front-facing camera, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, and more.
Verizon says the RAZR MAXX will sell for $300 with a new two-year customer agreement.
