Sprint announced the release of new system software for the Samsung Epic 4G, HTC Evo Design 4G, and the HTC EVO 4G.
These minor “bug fix” updates are being sent OTA (over the air) in the next coming days. Users should be notified by their smartphone when the software is available for download.
Samsung Epic 4G users will receive the following in their updates: a security update, a speaker feedback fix, and the disabling of QIK and Asphalt 5 as preloaded applications. Both the HTC Evo 4G and the HTC Evo Design 4G updates will receive a security update, an updated Peep client, and an improvement in battery life. The EVO Design 4G will also receive an Update Sprint Zone client and 3LM Enterprise Tool Access.
At some point, users will be able to manually download these updates by going to Settings > About phone > System updates > Update firmware. However, they are not yet broadly available.
