Time Warner Cable has introduced TWC TV for iPhone, a free app for its customers that allows them to watch live TV from within their home, change channels, and manage their DVR.
The software includes an interactive program guide with up to 7 days of listings. This is a searchable list of programs, and users can tap on a network logo or “watch on TV” button within a program's description to tune compatible set-top boxes to the channel.
It also offers DVR management – users can schedule one-time and series recordings on compatible DVRs directly from the program guide. They can see a list of all upcoming recordings and make changes or cancel recordings.
TWC TV can be downloaded now from Apple's iTunes App Store. It is a universal app, so it runs on both the iPhone and iPad.
This feature is available at no additional cost to Time Warner Cable video customers that have a broadband connection. It also requires a set-top box or DVR running the Navigator interactive program guide.
