Those looking to communicate with users all over the world will now have a chance to do so with Vonage Mobile.
Vonage released its Mobile app today that promises free high-definition calls and free texts to anyone who has Vonage Mobile. However, users will be charged if a call or text is made to anyone without Vonage Mobile.
Vonage Mobile works over Wi-Fi, 3G, and 4G Wireless Data networks, and uses the phone’s existing number and contacts, eliminating the creation of a unique user name and duplicate identities. Calls to any phone in the United States, Canada, or Puerto Rico are free for a limited time. In addition, calls to Vonage home or business lines are free.
The app provides ultra low-cost international calling for users talking to someone without the Vonage Mobile app. The company promises to beat its competitors such as Skype in low-cost international calling. It reports that their international calling per-minute rates are on average 70% less than major mobile carriers and 30% cheaper than Skype.
Users can easily add calling credit through iTunes or Android Market.
