HTC One X Will Be a Quad-Core Android Smartphone

Sometimes companies apparently can't settle on a name for an upcoming product. Case in point: HTC's first smartphone with a quad-core processor has gone through two or three names already; the latest is supposedly the "One X".

Previously, it has been known as the Edge, the Supreme, and the Endeavor. Still, one could argue that picking just the right name for this model is important, as it's likely to be HTC's flagship for some time -- unconfirmed reports have indicated that it will have a very high-end feature set.

This will start off with the aforementioned quad-core CPU, which will supposedly have four 1.5GHz processor cores and will be from Nvida's Tegra 3 series. This will make the One X among the first handsets with a quad-core chip.

This smartphone will run Android OS 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich), the very latest version of Google's operating system for smartphones and tablets, if early reports are correct. It will include 1GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage, and a microSD memory card slot.

Apparently, the most obvious feature of the One X will be a 4.7-inch capacitive touchscreen. This will have a resolution of 1280 x 720.

Previous reports have indicated that it will include an 8 megapixel rear-facing camera, plus a 1.3 megapixel front-facing one. The device will quite likely have some version of 4G, and Wi-Fi a/b/g/n and Bluetooth 4.0.

Say Hi to the HTC One S
HTC is allegedly creating a new "One" series of models, as the smartphone previously known as the Ville has reportedly been renamed the the HTC One S. This will be another Android OS 4.0 device, but with a scaled-down set of features.

It will supposedly have a 1.5 dual-core processor with 1GB of RAM. as well as a 4.3-inch qHD (960 x 540) Super AMOLED touchscreen. This smartphone will also have an 8MP rear-facing camera and a 1650mAh battery.

HTC has scheduled a press event for February 26, the day before the start of the Mobile World Congress. The wraps are likely to come off both the HTC One X and HTC One S at that time.
