Samsung Takes the Wraps of Two Budget Android Smartphones

Today, Samsung announced two budget smartphones to be released to the public later this year. The Samsung Galaxy Ace 2 and the Samsung Galaxy mini 2 will first be introduced in Europe before being deployed to other countries.

The Galaxy Ace 2 will be available in the U.K. in April, and will feature 3.8-inch WVGA PLS TFT touch-screen and an 800MHz dual-core processor. It will run Android OS 2.3, and will feature both a 5MP rear-facing camera and a VGA front-facing one.

The Galaxy Ace 2 is going to come with 4GB of internal memory and a microSD slot will enable up to 32GB of storage on the phone. It will also be Bluetooth 3.0 and Wi-Fi enabled.

Like the Galaxy Ace 2, the Galaxy mini 2 will feature an 800MHz dual-core processor, will run on Android OS 2.3, and will also be Bluetooth and Wi-Fi enabled. The 3.7-inch handset will feature a 3MP rear-facing camera and will have 4GB of storage with the option to add more thanks to its microSD slot.

Samsung stressed that both devices focuses on its ChatON, Social Hub, and Music Hub services.

The price and release dates for other countries for both devices have not yet to be announced. The timing for today's announcment is calulated to allow Samsung to demo these smartphones at MWC 2012, to be held next week.
