On March 4, AT&T subscribers can purchase the Samsung Rugby Smart – a smartphone that can withstand extreme conditions.
For $100 with a two-year contract, customers can purchase a device that AT&T and Samsung claim is dustproof and waterproof. Those who are adventurous can submerge it for 30 minutes in up to a meter of water and use it afterwards. The phone is also shockproof and has met the U.S. Mil-STD 810F specifications.
Additional Details
The Rugby Smart is going to feature Google Android OS 2.3, 4G HSPA+ capability, a 5MP rear-facing camera with 720p HD video recording, a second 1.3MP front-facing camera, and an integrated flashlight.
It will ship with a 3.7-inch WVGA Super AMOLED display and an internal memory capacity of 4GB. Users can add a microSD card that will boost the memory space of the device to 32GB.
