Midway Arcade Now Bringing Classic Games to iPhones

Remember the days of playing Joust and Defender in the arcades? Well the days of classic games in arcades are gone, but thanks to Midway, you can play these games and more right on your iPhone.

For $1, you’ll be able to download Midway Arcade and play up to 10 games which include Defender, Rampage, Spy Hunter, Arch Rivals, Root Beer Tapper, Joust, and other interactive arcade games such as Air Hockey, Quick-shot Basketball, Billiards, and Roll Ball (a Skee Ball clone). Customers can also purchase two $1 packages, Adventure Game Pack and the Action Game Pack, through an in-app purchase.

The app is laid out like an actual arcade. The two-level open-air building has 80's fluorescence lighting to give the place an old-school arcade feel. To play the games, just simply swipe until you find the game you like, and click play. Each game awards virtual tickets that you can spend on 3D stuffed animals and other toys in the prize shop.

Users will have to adjust to the small screen and controls in order to play the games since the iPhone’s screen is nothing compared to the large gaming cabinets that were found in the arcades. However, for $1, you can’t go wrong while enjoying the nostalgia of playing these incredible classics.
