Sprint and HTC have invited journalists to an event to be held early next month. They aren't hinting what smartphone they are going to announce, but there's a very likely suspect.
The wording of the invite is vague: "Sprint and HTC invite you to experience their latest collaboration, hosted by Sprint CEO Dan Hesse and HTC President Jason Mackenzie." Aside from details on time and location of the meeting -- evening on April 4, in New York City -- the email reveals no additional information about what's in the offering.
That hasn't stopped people from speculating, and much of that focuses on recent unconfirmed reports that Sprint is prepping a model called the "HTC Jet" that will be similar in many respects to the recently-announced HTC One X. It will supposedly run Android OS 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) on a dual-core 1.5GHz Qualcomm S4 processor, and sport a 1.5 GHz single-core processor. The highlight of the external design will be a 4.7-inch 1280 x 720 touchscreen, while this smartphone is expected to be one of the first from this carrier with 4G LTE.
Whether Sprint announces the HTC Jet on April 4 or not, Brighthand will be on-hand for the festivities.
