A patent filed back in 2011 shows that HTC may be designing a media player similar to the iPod Touch, challenging Apple in a market that remains almost untouched.
The patent shows a device that does not come with broadband networking capabilities, making it a Wi-Fi only handset. The design also seems to show that it follows the older style of HTC, using both the Vivid’s pyramid-shaped back and the Thunderbolt’s speaker grill.
Other design features include a kickstand and slide-out rear and front speakers, which makes the device perfect for consuming media like movies, music, or games. No other details have been released at the moment, but expect the device to take advantage of Google's current foray into the digital media market.
