Google recently released an update for its Maps for Android app, providing users with a variety of enhancements and improvements.
The newest update to Google Maps for Android, bringing it to version 6.5, includes a redesigned navigation home screen (exclusive to ICS) that makes it easier for users to search for previous or recent destinations. It also lets users choose a particular transit mode and route options, including public transportation routes that involve fewer transfers or less travel on foot.
For Android devices with high-pixel density screens, like those on the Samsung Galaxy Nexus or the Motorola Droid II, the latest update also provides higher resolution map tiles that result in crisper and less cluttered visuals that are easier to read.
Users running Android Ice Cream Sandwich (4.0) can download Google Maps for Android 6.5 right now from Google Play.
