Samsung is offering customers a free extended-life 2100mAh battery and a new back cover with the purchase of the Galaxy Nexus through Samsung Mobile.
The extended battery is expected to give users an average of two hours of additional use. The promotion by Samsung will only last for six weeks, ending on May 10 or while supplies last. To receive the battery, Samsung customers must purchase a Galaxy Nexus with a new two-year contract through Samsung Mobile.
The battery bundle usually sells directly from Samsung for $50 and can be bought between $30 to $40 among various online retailers like Amazon.
4G LTE devices have been known to experience a poor battery life because the faster connectivity is such a drain. Since these devices needs more battery to search for an LTE signal, many customers have been complaining about the sub-par longevity on the Samsung Galaxy Nexus and similar devices. Samsung is hoping that the battery bundle will appease the users who have concerns about the battery life of 4G LTE handsets.
