Sprint Begins Employee Training for Galaxy Nexus, Suggests Impending Release

The release of the Samsung Galaxy Nexus on Sprint seems to be getting closer by the day, as word has gotten out that the carrier has begun employee training for both the Galaxy Nexus and Android 4.0.

Supposedly, employees who are taking the training course are expected to finish within the next two weeks, which could put the release of the Galaxy Nexus somewhere around late April or early May. This would appear to jive with previous rumors about the phone seeing an April 22 release, which began after an internal Walmart document was leaked.

But Sprint might be jumping the gun a little bit: the training guide, which was leaked to Engadget, contains a page indicating that early units will ship with LTE turned off by default, though this is a practice that the company will change sometime in the future. This would suggest, then, that the Galaxy Nexus may be getting a release before the Now Network has its LTE fully up and running.

This isn’t the first time the public has caught wind of Sprint's Galaxy Nexus variant, which will have a couple of new features, including Google Wallet support and a slightly faster processor. First, it was exposed in one of Sprint’s online ads before making a brief appearance on Engadget’s stage at CES, and then it was seen making its way through the FCC before most recently showing up in the Walmart document.
