A new image of what looks like the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S III appeared on the Web earlier today. This gives the world one of the best looks yet at what will almost certainly be one of the best-selling smartphones of this year.
Samsung’s flagship handset for 2012 has been a heavy point of discussion for months now, and it looks like the rumor mill may be heating up. An anonymous source has sent a photograph to oPDA.pl claiming that he has the Samsung Galaxy S III in his possession because he is testing it. No other information was provided aside from the image, and while it isn't officially confirmed by Samsung, readers can take away a few things about the device.
According to the photo, the display is large, housing five rows of icons on the main screen. The display also takes up a large portion of the phone’s face. It is running Android 4.0 OS (Ice Cream Sandwich) and the home button is wide and flat compared to its predecessors.
More Details
Earlier unconfirmed reports on this model indicate it is going to feature a 1.5GHz quad-core Exynos processor and a 4.8-inch display. The handset will also allegedly sport an 8-megapixel rear camera, a 2-megapixel front-facing camera, and will have 4G LTE connectivity.
Earlier this month, Brighthand reported that the Samsung Galaxy S III was heavily rumored to include a 1280 x 720 display as well as a launch date as early as May.
