Nokia Releases System Software Update for Lumia 900 to Fix Connection Bug

Shortly after AT&T introduced the Nokia Lumia 900 earlier this week, users discovered a bug that caused them to lose their cellular-wireless connection. A system software update is now available that fixes this issue.

A memory management issue was the source of this problem. Shortly after connecting to the AT&T network, the smartphone would disconnect without the ability to find the network shortly after.

Installing the Update

The update can be installed by hooking the Lumia 900 up to a PC running the Zune desktop app, or a Mac running Windows Phone 7 Connector.

Those who don't want to go through this process can take their smartphone to an AT&T store, where it will be swapped with a unit that has already been upgraded.

Nokia's Apology

To compensate users for this hassle, Nokia is giving everyone who has already purchased a Lumia 900 a $100 credit on the AT&T bill, essentially making this product free. This offer is also open to any who purchases this device before April 21.
