Verizon Wireless has just released incremental updates for the Motorola Droid 4, Motorola Droid RAZR, and the Motorola Droid RAZR MAXX, bringing a number of improvments to these Android smartphones.
All three of these models are going to receive upgrades to Android OS 4.0, but not today. The new system software updates are tweaks, rather than major upgrades.
The Droid 4 will be updated to version 6.13.219, which boasts a handful of enhancements and bug fixes. Features in this update include improvements to Wi-Fi connectivity, messaging, the touchscreen, and the battery life. Additionally, bug fixes were made related to the power on function and keyboard.
Both the Droid RAZR and Droid RAZR MAXX will receive the 6.12.181 update that promises a better battery life, improved 4G LTE coverage and several other stability and security enhancements.
To download updates for the Droid 4, RAZR or RAZR MAXX over the air, simply press the Menu Key > tap Settings > About phone > System updates > Download. The updates should be rolling out to users today. Otherwise, users will be notified when their device's update has been automatically sent OTA (over the air) and is ready to be installed.
