Verizon Wireless Announces New Prepaid Smartphone Plan

Verizon Wireless just announced a new prepaid smartphone plan that will be available starting tomorrow.

The plan will offer unlimited talk and text messaging, as well as 1GB of data for $80 per month. This is going to provide customers access to a smartphone and Verizon's 3G network without the commitment of an annual contract.

Those looking to take advantage of this new prepaid plan will need to pick up the prepaid Samsung Illusion, an Android-based handset. The handset prepaid package will be available in Verizon Wireless Communication Stores and online the Verizon Wireless website for $170. It will also become available on other retailers such as Best Buy, Walmart, and Radio Shack in the coming weeks.
