T-Mobile just announced that customers who own the HTC Sensation 4G may start upgrading to Android OS 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) today. A similar upgrade for the HTC Amaze 4G will be available next week.
A handful of features have been included for both devices including Sense 3.6 UI (HTC's overlay), system bar enhancements, re-sizeable
widgets, lock screen actions including pull down notifications, data usage controls, Face Unlock, home screen folders, and an improved battery life, text input, spell checking, and menu structure. Both the Amaze 4G and Sensation will receive essentially the same upgrade.
The update for the Sensation is now available OTA or through a manual update, while the Amaze version is scheduled for May 21.
HTC Amaze 4G Overview
The Amaze 4G sports a 4.3-inch qHD (960 x 540) Touchscreen display, runs on a 1.5GHz dual-core processor, and has 1GB of RAM. As indicated by its name, this device supports the T-Mobile 4G HSPA+ network. It also has GPS, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.
It also features a 2MP front-facing camera, as well as an 8MP rear-facing shooter with a dual-LED flash. The Amaze 4G offers a number of camera-related features including a backlight camera sensor, BurstShot, and ClearShot HDR.
The Sensation sports a 4.3-inch (960 x 540) Super-LCD Touchscreen and runs on a dual-core 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor and 768MB of RAM. It has 1GB of internal storage as well as an 8GB microSD memory card. It also supports T-Mobile's 4G HSPA Wireless Network and has Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth 3.0, GPS, and DLNA. Other features include a 1520 mAh battery and an FM radio.
