LG is introducing a new version of its user interface for upcoming Android OS 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) devices called Optimus UI 3.0.
The new user interface includes a variety of enhanced features such as Quick Memo, which enables users to jot notes on the screen using a finger, and unique unlock functions.
Other features that can be found in the new UI are the ability to unlock the phone by dragging anywhere on the screen, a customizable pattern lock, Voice Shutter that allows users to capture photos using voice, a camera feature that enables users to choose the best photo out of multiple images just before the shutter button was pressed, and an Icon Customizer that allows users to set their own photos as icons or shortcut images.
The Optimus UI 3.0 will make its debut on the Optimus LTE II which launches in Korea later this week. It will then be featured on the Optimus 4X HD in June. There are no reports of this new version making its way to current LG devices.
