Apple iPhone Launching from Cricket with Pre-Paid Plan

Cricket Wireless announced today that it will be the first wireless carrier in the U.S. to offer the iPhone as a pre-paid device to its customers.

Starting on June 22, customers will be able to purchase the iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S with a $55 per-month plan that includes unlimited talk, text, and data up to 2.3GB. The carrier will sell the 16GB model of the iPhone 4 for $400 and will offer the 16GB iPhone 4S for $500.

The pre-paid iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S will be available at Cricket company-owned stores and select dealers in about 60 markets around the U.S. Both handsets will also be available online on Cricket's website.
