HTC EVO 4G LTE to Finally Launch This Saturday

Sprint will begin selling the HTC Evo 4G LTE smartphone on June 2 after it faced an import delay when being brought into the United States. This model will be the carrier's new Android flagship smartphone.

The Evo 4g LTE along with the One X were held up by U.S. Customs for weeks because they potentially infringed on a patent owned by Apple. We reported yesterday that both handsets were once again shipping because they were found to be in compliance with a ruling by the International Trade Commission.

Those who pre-ordered the EVO 4G LTE began receiving it last week, but Sprint isn't taking orders right now. That's going to change this weekend, however.

Customers looking to pick up the smartphone can do so this Saturday at most retailers including the Sprint website. The EVO 4G LTE will cost $200 with a two-year agreement.

HTC EVO 4G LTE Overview

This EVO 4G sports a 4.7-inch display, and is powered by a 1.5 GHz dual-core Snapdragon processor. It runs Android OS 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) with HTC's Sense 4 UI. Other features include Global Beats Audio, an 8 megapixel front-facing camera, and a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera.

It is one of the first handsets from this company with 4G LTE, despite the fact that Sprint doesn't have a 4G LTE network yet. That's expected to change -- at least in a few markets, by the end of this month.
