Samsung Galaxy S III Headed for AT&T, Verizon, Sprint, T-Mobile, U.S. Cellular

The Samsung Galaxy S III is going to debut in America in a big way: by the end of this month, it will be available from five of the largest carriers in this country. It is rapidly shaping up to be the biggest Android model of the year!

Samsung just announced that this smartphone is going to be introduced by AT&T, Verizon, Sprint, T-Mobile, and U.S. Cellular. It didn't reveal exact release dates, but did say the roll-out is set to begin before the end of this month.

The company also said that pricing is going to start at $200, but again, didn't give all the details.

The Galaxy S III is going to be more widely available than its predecessor, a device which Verizon skipped over. It is already available in some countries, and Samsung said it has received almost 10 million pre-ordres.

A Preview of the Latest Galaxy S

This cutting-edge smartphone features a 4.8-inch, 1280 x 720 (720p), Super AMOLED touchscreen. This will give it a larger display than almost all of its rivals, especially the 3.5-inch iPhone 4S.

The Galaxy S III runs Android OS 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich), and the U.S. versions will have a 1.5 GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor and 2GB of RAM. The amount of internal storage has not yet been announced.

The AT&T, Verizon, and Sprint versions will have 4G LTE, while T-Mobile's will have 4G HSPA+42. All will have Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC, and GPS. Rounding out the list of features is a 2100mAh swappable battery, an 8 megapixel main camera and a 1.9MP camera on its front.
