After being unveiled at the AT&T Developer Summit back in January, the availability, specs, and pricing of the Samsung Exhilarate have finally been announced. This smartphone received a UL Platinum rating for being unusually easy on the environment.
AT&T subscribers will be able to pick up the Exhilarate on June 10 for a budget-friendly $50 after a mail-in rebate and a new two-year contract. It will be available on this carrier's website and in stores.
The Exhilarate is going to sport a 4-inch Super AMOLED panel, and will run on Android 2.3(Gingerbread) with a 1.2GHz dual-core Scorpion CPU. The handset will also have 4G LTE connectivity, a 5MP rear-facing camera, and a 1.3MP front-facing one.
Environmentally Friendly
A Platinum certification from Underwriters Laboratories means that this device passed a set of requirements and can now be considered "environmentally preferable." It features a rear casing made from 80% recycled material, and comes with a low-load, energy-efficient charger that alerts customers when the device is fully charged.
The Samsung Exhilarate is also going to go through AT&T's new eco-rating system which is expected to launch later this summer.
