HTC One X Available from AT&T Once Again

AT&T has the HTC One X in stock again. This cutting-edge Android smartphone was unavailable in the U.S. for several weeks when it fell afoul of a patent dispute between HTC and Apple.

This model debuted from AT&T on May 6, but in the middle of that month U.S. Customs began holding all HTC's shipments when they arrived in the United States. This was at the orders of the International Trade Commission, which ruled last year that some HTC devices that existed at that time infringed on a patent held by Apple. As a result, new devices, including the One X, had to be tested by Customs agents to be sure they didn't infringe on the same patent.

This testing took a couple of weeks, during which time the One X was unavailable from AT&T. Still, shipments have begun again, and enough units have arrived that the carrier has resumed selling this handset on its website. It will be in AT&T retail stores on June 10.

This is HTC's new flagship model, and it has the specs to match. The One X boasts a very large display, 4G, high-res camera, and more. It is currently AT&T's only phone with Android OS 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich).

This particular version has 4G LTE and a dual-core 1.5 GHz processor, two features that set it apart from the European version.

The One X has a 4.7-inch 1280 x 720 (720p) super LCD, an 8 megapixel rear-facing camera, plus a 1.3 megapixel front-facing one. In addition to LTE, this version sports 4G HSPA+, Wi-Fi a/b/g/n, and Bluetooth 4.0. It includes 1GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, and a microSD memory card slot.
