An upcoming software update for the Nokia Lumia 710 and 800 will allow users to share their wireless internet connection via a mobile hotspot app.
Users will be able to share their connections with up to five other devices over Wi-Fi, turning the smartphone into a portable hotspot.
More Changes
While the update won't upgrade the devices to the recently-announced Windows Phone 7.8, the update pushed to the devices will add a variety of features, along with the mobile hotspot app.
Other additions from the update include a flip-to-silence feature, which stops the phone from ringing by simply flipping the device face down. There will be new apps such as Camera Extras, Counters, and Contact Share.
The update is for all versions of the Nokia Lumia 710 and Lumia 800. Nokia expects to push the update to these devices by the end of July.
It should be noted that this announcement comes just after Microsoft unveiled both Windows Phone 7.8 for legacy devices and Windows Phone 8 for upcoming releases.
