Customers who have purchased the AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II will receive the Android OS 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) update today.
This update is only for the Samsung Galaxy S II, not the Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket,. However, AT&T also promised that Android ICS will be coming to other models this summer, which might include the Skyrocket.
More about Android ICS
Android 4.0 features upgraded functionality and new features, such as Face Unlock. It also includes Direct Access Lock Screen, which allows users to easily open the camera, text messages, and dialer from the lock screen. In addition, the upgrade also enhances the voice input technology, typing words as the user speaks emails or texts.
Getting the Update
Unlike most devices that upgraded to Android OS 4.0, the AT&T Galaxy S II will only be able to receive the update on Windows or Mac computers using the Samsung Kies software application.
