It looks like Verizon customers waiting to own the Samsung Galaxy S III will have to practice some more patience, as the carrier has delayed its offering yet again.
While Verizon promised earlier this week that it would begin selling the high-end Android smartphone today, it hasn?t exactly met this deadline, noting on its website that orders placed today won't ship until Monday, July 16. This is not the first delay for Verizon, which initially planned to release the handset on July 10.
Samsung has encountered some difficulties keeping up with demand. Reports of a production issue with the blue casing have been speculated to be the cause of delays for Verizon. Still, with AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile and even U.S. Cellular already selling the device, Verizon looks like it is being left behind.
More about this Smartphone
The third-generation Galaxy S features a 1.5 GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor with 2GB of RAM, in addition to sporting a 4.8-inch Super AMOLED 1280 x 720 resolution display. Powered by Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich), the smartphone comes with an 8 megapixel main camera and a 1.9MP front-facing camera. Like AT&T and Sprint, Verizon?s iteration of Samsung?s new flagship model will run on the carrier?s 4G LTE network.
Big Red is asking $200 with a two-year contract for the 16GB model, which is in line with most of its competitors sans T-Mobile, which has inflated its price by $80. The 32GB version costs a bit more, ranking in at $250 with contract.
