Whether you love or hate the Windows Phone OS, it's difficult to deny that Nokia's top-tier Lumia 900 model was a good deal when it was first released in April with an MSRP of $100 with a new two-year contract. Now, Nokia has sweetened the deal even further by shaving a few bucks off to bring the Lumia 900's price tag down to $50 with a new two-year contract with AT&T.
Granted, this isn't the cheapest the Lumia 900 has ever been, as Nokia has repeatedly put the model on sale since its release, but those were just temporary discounts. This is a permanent price drop for the flagship device, making it one of the most affordable current-gen Windows Phone 7.5 handsets available.
The price drop applies to all colors of the Lumia 900, including the white, black, cyan, and newly-released pink models. Though some may be hesitant to pick one up now given the recent news that the Lumia 900 -- and all current-gen WP devices -- will not be receiving an update to Windows Phone 8, it will be receiving the Windows Phone 7.8 update (a sort of happy medium that, while it does not have all the features of WP8, will include certain upgrades like a redesigned home screen).
A review of the Lumia 900 is available for those who are considering taking advantage of this new price.
