AT&T's HTC One X Price Drops 50%

The AT&T version of HTC's flagship device just became much more affordable.  The One X, previously selling for $200 with a two-year contract, is now going for half that.

This smartphone only debuted in May, and a price cut this soon is somewhat unusual. However, the One X has been overshadowed by the very popular Samsung Galaxy S III, and AT&T and HTC may be making this move to increase demand for this rival model.

Whatever the reason for the change, those who are interested in this high-end handset can now find it for $100 on AT&T's website.

HTC One X Overview

This smartphone sports a range of high-end features, including a 4.7-inch 1280 x 720 (720p) super LCD, an 8 megapixel rear-facing camera, plus a 1.3 megapixel front-facing one.

It runs Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich), and upgrade to OS 4.1 (Jelly Bean) is in development. The device is built around a dual-core 1.5 GHz processor, with 1GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, and a microSD memory card slot.

In addition to 4G LTE, AT&T's version has 4G HSPA+, Wi-Fi a/b/g/n, and Bluetooth 4.0
