Not long after word came out that Nokia may be announcing its first Windows Phone 8 handsets at its Nokia World event in Helsinki, Finland next month, pictures of what may be a WP8 device surfaced on a Chinese blog.
The blog, WPDang, discovered pictures posted by a Weibo user today of what appears to be a prototype WP8 Lumia phone, evidenced by the miniature tile size on the home screen, a feature of the new operating system. That being said, it's possible that the device is just running Windows Phone 7.8, the watered-down version of the OS that Microsoft will be releasing to existing Windows Phone 7 users, but which also features the new tile size.
But there has been no confirmation that the two images, which have since been pulled from the Weibo user's account, are in fact legitimate. We'll just have to wait and see what Nokia has up its sleeve either next month or when Windows Phone 8 devices supposedly begin shipping in November.
